PERM ENGINES PRESENTATION IN IRAN

On November 26 - 30, 2006 representatives of the Perm Motors Group Manage-ment Company took part in the Iran air show as members of the Tatarstan delega-tion. The purpose of the visit of Russian aircraft builders and engine builders be-came the presentation of the Tu-214 aircraft powered with Perm engines and the Tu-334 aircraft before Iran airlines.

In Tehran, before leaders of Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Defence and leaders of air-lines Minister of Trade of Tatarstan Kh. Salikhov, Director General of Kazan Aircraft Production Association (KAPO) n.a. S.P. Gorbunov N. Khairullin and chief aircraft designers spoke. For the technical personnel of Iran airlines the detailed presentation of the aircraft was held. The repre-sentatives of the Perm Motors Group Management Company gave comprehensive information about the engines.

The Tu-214 and the Tu-334 became the central exhibits of the show. The flight programme of the Tu-214 carried out by pilots of Tupolev JSC showed by visual demonstration perfect per-formance of the aircraft and excited enthusiastic reviews and genuine interest of specialists of Iran airlines in Russian aircraft equipment.

In the course of the visit letters of intent with Eram Air about delivery of 10 Tu-214s and Pars Air Qeshm about purchase of two Tu-214s and three Tu-334s were signed. To Perm engine builders that means the order will make up not less than 24 engines.
